This page provides directions for requesting a reproduction image of an item from the collections of Picker Art Gallery or Longyear Museum of Anthropology. Use the tabs below to select which collection you’d like to request an image from.

Please read the terms and conditions, and keep in mind that the copyright may be owned by an entity other than the Picker. It is the user's responsibility to secure those rights, where necessary.
Reproduction Terms and Conditions
- All requests for photographic material and/or permission to reproduce images of works from the collection of the Picker Art Gallery, °Ä²Ê¿ª½± (hereafter, PAG) must be approved prior to publication.
- Permission for reproduction is granted for one-time use as detailed on the Image Request form, unless specified. Permission to publish must be obtained in advance for each subsequent edition or reprint. Permission is valid only for the individual, company, or institution to whom it is specifically issued and may not be transferred, assigned, sold, or otherwise disposed of without written permission of PAG.
- In some cases PAG does not hold literary or other copyrights to some items and it is the user's responsibility to secure those rights, where necessary.
- Each image must be reproduced unaltered and in its entirety unless approved in advance by the PAG. No cropping, bleeding or retouching is allowed. Images must not be printed on colored stock or with misleading color. For works not protected by copyright, the reproduction may not be printed in the exact dimensions of the original work of art, without clear, written indication that it is a reproduction of the original. Details require prior approval from PAG. Nothing can be superimposed on the reproduction and the reproduction cannot be superimposed on anything.
- The complete image label with credit line, as supplied by the PAG, must appear in immediate proximity to the reproduction in the publication, or in the section devoted to photographic credits. Abbreviations are not permitted. When provided, the photography credit line must be included with the reproduction. - No images may be used to show or imply that the PAG or °Ä²Ê¿ª½± endorses any commercial product or enterprise, or concurs with the opinions expressed in, or the accuracy of, any text used with the images.
- PAG reserves the right to deny permission to reproduce an image from its collection to any applicant whose publication/product is not acceptable to the museum for any reason.
- All publishers assure responsibility of color proofing of the image(s) and agree to print credit line, as provided. University presses and non-profit publications agree to send a complete citation of the published work to the PAG upon completion.
- Two (2) complimentary copies of the published work are required by Picker Art

Copyright Restrictions
Although PAG may own a particular artwork, the copyright may be retained by the artist or their assignors. The responsibility of determining whether the particular work is in copyright and identifying and securing permission from all copyright holders rests with the applicant. PAG assumes no responsibility for any royalties or fees claimed by the artist, or on his or her behalf, or by any other copyright holder. If the work is under a creative commons license, the applicant must follow the requirements of that license. Images of certain works, such as three-dimensional works, or works portraying a celebrity, may require the applicant to secure additional permissions. The responsibility of determining when additional permissions must be secured rests with the applicant, and it is incumbent upon the applicant to obtain all necessary permissions. The length of copyright protection varies. Please refer to copyright law.
If applicable, a signed document of permission may be required from the copyright owner for proper processing.
Fees and Payment
Permission Fees:
- Permissions for non-profit/scholarly use: Fee waived
- Commercial, single use: $200 (worldwide, per use and/or set time span up to 1 year)
- Commercial, multiple including simultaneous uses: Determined on a case-by-case basis

New Photography Fees
- 2D object: $150
- 3D object: $200, minimum, based on number of shots needed and complexity of movement and staging.
- Rush fee (less than 10 business days notice) $50
All images are issued as TIFFS, unless by special request. Transparencies and photographic prints are subject to additional fees.
Prepayment is required on all orders. Payment must be made via money order or check in US dollars drawn on a US bank. PAG does NOT accept electronic bank transfer payments.
