Specialty Software

Contact the ITS Service Desk for specific information about specialty software, purchases, and cost sharing.

Cost Sharing

For all software that is not listed in one of the charts above, cost sharing with ITS may be possible if the software is being used for reasonable business purposes and it has been planned in the annual ITS budget process (fall of the preceding year).

This must be budgeted in that process, not at the time of purchase. Costs for items not budgeted will normally be borne 100% by the department or user. Requests for unbudgeted cost sharing will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Adobe Products

°Ä²Ê¿ª½± has a volume agreement with Adobe covering many of its products. The Adobe Creative Suite is available to the entire °Ä²Ê¿ª½± community, and most other Adobe products may be purchased at the lowest academic discount.  To install Creative Cloud on a °Ä²Ê¿ª½± or personally owned computer, start on our Adobe Creative Cloud page.

Microsoft Products

°Ä²Ê¿ª½± has a series of volume agreements with Microsoft. Most titles not listed in the charts above may be purchased at a discount through ITS.  Faculty and Staff can use Office 365 free of charge and use while employed at the University on personally owned computers or mobile devices.  To install Office 365, start at colgate.edu/o365.   To purchase a copy of Microsoft Office, visit .
