Guest Choreographer:
Dolo McComb is a Minneapolis-based performance-maker and bodyworker. In both of these arenas, Dolo’s practice focuses on creating space for the emergence of the innate wisdom and hidden mythologies of the body. After earning a BA in dance from the Colorado College, Dolo moved to Minneapolis, where she has worked and toured nationally with choreographer Chris Schlichting and BodyCartography Project. Her choreographic work has been shown in Minneapolis as part of 9x22 Dance/Lab, Walker Art Center 2015 Choreographers Evening, Red Eye Theater New Works Festival, Vital Matters Dance Festival, and Momentum: New Dance Works. Dolo’s movement work regularly incorporates music making, vocalizing, hysteria, and physical comedy. In her latest investigation, she performs under the moniker L’ester in a highly physical, experimental synth-pop music show, shapeshifting through countless characters and choreographies.
