Prior to joining °Ä²Ê¿ª½± in June 2021, Spencer was the director of administration for the office of the vice president of student affairs at Florida State University (FSU). He draws on a dozen years of experience in higher education administration, including work at American University of Nigeria, Bucknell University, and the University of Massachusetts–Amherst. Spencer has taught classes at FSU on black male leadership and has served as a facilitator for a number of student support training sessions. He earned a bachelor’s degree at Temple University, a master’s degree from the University of Massachusetts–Amherst, and a PhD from FSU.
Nied started her tenure at °Ä²Ê¿ª½± in July 2020, and she comes to campus with a wealth of experience, including service as the resident director, director of recreation, fitness, and sports for Semester at Sea. She has also served in a number of residential life roles at St. Louis University, the University of Maryland, and Colorado State University. Nied earned her bachelor of arts at Florida International University, her master of science at Western Illinois University, and her PhD in higher education at St. Louis University.
