It’s crunch time here at °Ä²Ê¿ª½±. With finals week coming up, everyone is keeping busy.
Sharing the last classes of the year with my fellow peers is a bit sad. I made good friends in all of my classes, and I’m going to miss the times we had. Still, next semester brings a whole new set of knowledge to the table, and I can’t wait to come back to a fresh set of professors, faces, and courses!
Though this week I’ve been spending most of my time with my nose in the books, I was able to do some activities for my own enjoyment as well.
I went to a Brown Bag at the Women’s Studies Center that discussed the book So Sexy So Soon, which touches on the idea that children are becoming exposed to mature material through the media at an early age.
It was an eye-opening discussion, and it really sparked my interest in the topic; I may pick up the book myself.
There also have been quite a few study breaks hosted by various clubs such as BSU and SORT. These study breaks give students time to relax and get their minds off work. I hear there is a Denzel Washington Study Break coming up; I wouldn’t mind catching some of his acting as well as charming good-looks!
In any case, this weekend will be mild. Saturday I’ll be catching A Charlie Brown Christmas at the Hamilton Movie Theater. I’m quite a kid at heart!
I’ll also be checking out the men’s hockey game against Niagara; I must admit that hockey games are some of the most engaging to watch.
Sunday will be another day of review. This, however, doesn’t mean that I won’t make time for the Slide Ireland’s Christmas Show with Irish dancers. I love Irish dancing because it reminds me of the type of dance I used to do back home.
Due to final exams, I won’t be able to blog until after break. Though I’m yearning to go home, I know I’ll be missing °Ä²Ê¿ª½± greatly!
This first semester has flown by, and I can’t capture in words how amazing it’s been for me. My memories are filled with laughter, enjoyment, excitement, and, yes, sometimes frustrations.
Regardless, this semester has been beyond anything I expected, though I know the road is not over. I still have another semester to go, and more lessons to learn.
