Back to National Fellowships and Scholarships News and Updates

The Office of National Fellowships and Scholarships is very pleased to share with you that °Ä²Ê¿ª½± was named one of the U.S. colleges and universities that produced the most 2021–2022 Fulbright U.S. students. Established over 75 years ago to increase mutual understanding between the United States and people of other countries, the Fulbright program is the world’s largest and most diverse international educational exchange program.

According to Associate Dean for Fellowship Advising Stephen Wright, PhD, “It is a testament to our students, to the teaching and mentorship of °Ä²Ê¿ª½± faculty, and to the excellent educational opportunities at °Ä²Ê¿ª½± that our students fare so well in the selection process.â€

The 2021–2022 °Ä²Ê¿ª½± Fulbright recipients are:

  • Charlotte Saltzgaber ’20 – A computer science major, who had been working as a software engineer at DGDean, is on an English teaching assistantship (ETA) in Spain.
  • Christina Weiler ’21 – An environmental science major, is on an ETA award to Spain.
  • Cole Grumbach ’21 – An international relations and Middle Eastern and Islamic studies major, is on a Fulbright research award for international relations in the United Arab Emirates.
  • Nora Mulroy ’21 – A biology major and former student athlete of °Ä²Ê¿ª½± Field Hockey, received an ETA award to Taiwan (declined).
  • Sophie Karp ’21 – A molecular biology and studio art double major, received a Fulbright research award for medical sciences in Germany (declined).

In addition, this year, we had the second largest number of °Ä²Ê¿ª½± applicants, with 18 advancing as semifinalists for the 2022–2023 award year.
