°Ä²Ê¿ª½± believes in maintaining a healthy work-life balance for employees. To support this goal, the University offers flexible work schedules, a wellness program, access to athletic facilities, housing loans, dependent care flexible spending accounts, childcare assistance, and more.

Flexible Work Schedules

Most jobs on campus require full-day work schedules although some departments may use other schedules. Remote and flexible schedule requests may be considered - with supervisor approval - for positions whose presence is not required during standard working hours.

Supervisors can use a rubric in the University's policy to evaluate requests for remote/hybrid work arrangements.

CU Well: Employee Wellness

°Ä²Ê¿ª½± partners with Personify Health, an innovative wellness program provider, to help employees lead a healthier lifestyle in a fun, engaging way. Personify Health offers periodic on-site biometric screenings, wellness coaches, and a variety of health tools, nutrition and physical activity trackers, and education resources on their. 

2023-2024 CU Well Program

The CU Well Focus on Fitness program, sponsored by human resources and the Trudy Fitness Center, offers wellness classes to °Ä²Ê¿ª½± employees and their spouses/partners during the lunch hour and after work. This program is designed to encourage healthier lifestyles through regular exercise.

Athletic Facilities

Memberships are available for °Ä²Ê¿ª½± employees and their immediate family. A membership card or °Ä²Ê¿ª½± ID are required to use the Fitness Center, Lineberry Pool, Huntington Gym, Sanford Field House Tennis Courts, and Sanford Field House Track.

Housing Loan Programs

The University maintains a limited fund to provide housing loans to benefitted employees and faculty (tenure stream or category 1 academic faculty/full-time faculty in the library or athletics).

Employees and faculty are eligible to receive a one-time loan up to $20,000. The program is restricted to one loan per property/primary residence. °Ä²Ê¿ª½± couples may only utilize one loan. The unsecured loans must be paid back over a 10-year period with monthly payroll deductions. If an employee or faculty member’s employment with the University ends prior to repayment, the loan must be paid in full.

Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

Employees may deposit up to $5,000* ($2,500* if you are married, and you and your spouse elect this benefit) into a Dependent Care FSA offered through .

Eligible expenses include payments to daycare centers, preschool costs, after-school care for dependent children under 13, and elder care. 

*Limits are set by the IRS each year.

Chenango Nursery School Assistance

°Ä²Ê¿ª½± provides scholarships or subsidies to °Ä²Ê¿ª½± employees who meet financial criteria, based on total family income, for their children to attend . The goal of the scholarship fund is to help make CNS affordable for more °Ä²Ê¿ª½± employees.

There may be additional external funding available to income-eligible employees. For more information on CNS or financial aid, contact the school at 315-824-1810. Inquiries and applications are confidential.
