With The Plan for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

This plan is a foundation for building a more inclusive and equitable °Ä²Ê¿ª½±. It is not a comprehensive blueprint for achieving that goal, and the steps defined here will need to be regularly adapted, augmented, and enhanced as both °Ä²Ê¿ª½± and the world evolve. The growth and development of the plan in the months and years will need to be shaped and informed by the broader campus community and its constituencies, and for this reason, there will be open forums on the plan, on the creation of a vice provost position, and on DEI efforts generally. DEI work will also continue to be moved forward through the overall work of advancing the Third-Century Plan, and in this context it will be a subject of attention and effort on the part of the Board of Trustees (who have formed an ad hoc committee to engage in this work), faculty governance (through APC and FAAOC) and the University’s administrative leadership, in their shared efforts to build a stronger °Ä²Ê¿ª½±.
