Bystander Workshops

Our Bystander Intervention Workshops are for students interested in learning how to safely intervene during problematic situations. Sessions are led by trained student facilitators.

Bystander Intervention 2.0 Training

This training builds on the Bystander Intervention 1.0, and provides an interactive experience where students consider when and how they will intervene in dangerous situations involving substance use, hazing, and power-based violence.

Note: all first-year students must complete Bystander Intervention 1.0 during their first semester on campus, and will receive an email with directions.

Schedule a session at wellness@colgate.edu.

Peer Support Program

The Peer Support Program allows students to meet one-on-one with a trained Shaw Wellness Institute Ambassador to talk through wellness-related issues including time management, sleep management, financial wellness, and belonging and connection. This program seeks to help students feel more comfortable and empowered when asking for help or support, and also as a connector to campus resources.

Wagging for Wellness Pet Therapy

In partnership with Paws of CNY and Pet Partners of CNY, Shaw Wellness hosts pet therapy on campus. Students can stop in and visit with a therapy dog during the scheduled times to de-stress between classes.

Wellness Supply Program

Students can order free supplies, including a variety of sexual health products through the online order form. Items are packaged discreetly and students may pick up their order during the operational hours of Shaw. Additional wellness items coming soon!

Food Access

°Ä²Ê¿ª½± has numerous programs to address food insecurity across campus and to help supplement items that may not be available through traditional meal assistance and financial aid. These programs are free to all students as °Ä²Ê¿ª½± works to break the stigma associated with scarcity and hunger.

The market is open to students who do not have meal plans, those who need a snack during the day, or anyone who needs to stock up on items before the weekend. This service is completely free and confidential. Looking for specific items? Email suggestions and requests to wellness@colgate.edu.
